Between the ninth and twelfth century, long before there were nations named Russia, Poland, Lithuania or Belarus, there stood the Principality of Polotsk. With its capital city of the same name, Polotsk became a vital trading hub for merchants from Eastern and Western Europe. They traded spices, food, clothing and yes, Vodka.
The exact birthplace and time of the creation of vodka is unclear. Located directly in the center of nations claiming its invention lies the city of Polotsk, with its Saint Sophia Cathedral built as the spiritual symbol of Slavic Europe. It has since been determined that Polotsk is the geographical center of Europe.
Polotsk Vodka is produced with 50% Rye and 50% Wheat. It is distilled five times and then filtered using five different filtering processes to create this smooth, clean, perfect vodka.
